a few years back, I got interested in sovietwave – sovietwave is to former Eastern Bloc countries what synthwave/retrowave is to the Western world – I find it tends to be a little more melancholy, they got to see their dreams fall apart in front of them while we still desperately cling to the illusion of the American Dream
