I got a little overzealous last night renaming some photos – was using exiftool to
convert from *.JPG to *.jpg but rather than keeping the existing filename,
I copy-and-pasted a previous line I had used to ingest a batch of photos which ended up changing
the tail of the filename that I use to keep track of which camera I used …
luckily enough, I didn’t mess up too many photos so I can go back and do some quick fixes by hand, but yes, «always double-check your command before hitting Enter»
