universal basic income (UBI) – such a simple concept and one so completely reviled by those in power – anytime it’s been tested or trialed, it’s been hugely successful – and trying to get us to believe a government can’t afford it takes a massive stretch of the imagination (and some really creative «iT’s JuSt BaSiC eCoNoMiCs» whingeing) – one of the most consistent results out of any of the trials is that overall productivity goes up (even with «bUt PeOpLe WiLl JuSt LeEcH», as if those in power don’t leech off us as is) – but another consistent observation of those receiving UBI is they usually spend the first month just resting, the first chance in their lives to just sit down and recover
