browsers mess up the sizing of monospace fonts – they try to average out the overall width of a line
rather than matching the letter height which makes code snippets and preformatted blocks look tiny compared
to the surrounding text – whereas if they had matched letter height, <code> and
<pre> would integrate better with the rest of the page
Settings → General → Fonts → Advanced…
Monospace [your font of choice], Size [set to same size as Proportional]
(three vertical dots menu) → Extensions → Visit Chrome Web Store → Advanced Font Settings
