the right wing likes to toss around «so much for the tolerant left» – at this point, I’m convinced the phrase «tolerant left» was a lie the right wing told themselves and the only ones who bought into it (hook-line-and-sinker) were the centrists (the liberals and the Democrats) – the left have never claimed to be tolerant – «No tolerance for intolerance!» and «No platform for fascists!» are two oft repeated mantras – the right wing is intolerant, the left fights intolerance, and the centrists protect intolerance, complicit ’til the end
