one of the (very few) nitpicks I have with vegans is something I’ve labeled «comparison on the diagonal» – small-scale, organic farms will always look better than industrial feed lots (advantages on two scales) – but in the US, this comparison fall short in two areas – small-scale, organic products are simply not affordable (especially when 60% of Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck) – but, more importantly, the vast majority of plant-based foods in the US comes from industrial farms – and there’s plenty of arguments that those industrial farms have a higher blood price than feed lots
