as you wake up from a dream, your liminal mind latches on to some fragment and proceeds to obsess over it
first iteration: baozi (steamed filled bun) served on top of cong you bing (scallion pancake)
second iteration: tongbao or xiaolongbao (soup dumpling) served on top of a soft flatbread like nang (naan) to absorb the broth (like serving soup in a bread bowl)
third iteration: sweet soup dumpling (thinned rice porridge with raisins and almonds) served over cinnamon toast
