so, just after my note on looking at preprocessors, OSnews linked to a post by
wok/Oblomov about Google is killing the open web
, specifically by trying
to remove XSLT – granted, XSLT is not the clearest format to work with (and the
web is full of diatribes against XML in general), but where XSLT and XML shine
is RSS – XML is the foundation of RSS and Atom, RSS and Atom are the foundation
of podcasts, and XSLT allows podcasters to display their podcast feeds as full
webpages rather than having to develop separate webpages pointing to the podcast
feed
