recently came across a reference to someone working on another text editor – all fine and well until I came across a line something like “and easy to remember keybinds like ‘S’ for Search” – oh honey, ‘S’ is for Save – I can forgive the vim/Emacs crowds since they developed their keybinds long before any attempts at standardization (and their userbases would revolt if they ever tried to change things at this stage) – but in the intervening period, we‘ve had lots of, at least, de facto standards (to the point that Colemak and Workman try to leave certain keys as untouched as possible) – ‘S’ for Save, ‘F’ for Find, ‘A’ for Select All, ‘Z’ for Undo, ‘X’ for Cut, ‘C’ for Copy, ‘V’ for Paste, ‘W’ for Close, ‘Q’ for Quit
