a couple days ago, someone on Mastodon complained about LLMs engendering pride in one’s lack of knowledge (Isaac Asimov’s “cult of ignorance”) – I think it’s even worse, we’ve skipped over a step or two – we’ve gone from “but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night” to “but I have a friend who knows someone who stayed at a Holiday Inn Express a couple nights back”
