some time ago, I latched onto the the idea of “air scrubbing plants” – and now I have three pots, one with devil’s ivy (Epipremnum aureum), one with snake plant (Dracaena trifasciata), and one with areca palm (Chrysalidocarpus lutescens) – it all goes back to a 1989 study by NASA on using plants to remove VOCs from the air – while things worked somewhat in closed, controlled environments, getting it to work in open environments like houses and office buildings would effectively require covering every floor and wall with a solid layer of plants to achieve anything vaguely measurable
