I played around with ELIZA way back when – and fed Shakespeare into Mark V.
Shaney – and followed Mondo 2000’s fascination with generative poetry,
generative art, and generative music – and the distraction never lasted for long
because the results were always incredibly shallow – There was no there
there.
– which is why the profound disappointment on seeing the current
generation of LLM-Gen-AI psychosis – these are tech leaders and and programmers
and developers I grew up with that I thought were supposed to know
better – but as they leave development, they not just fall prey to the ELIZA
effect, they eagerly throw themselves into the slop
