I grew up in an age of smokers and leaded gasoline and learning of the cognitive impairments from lead – and then having to deal with dioxins – more recently, learning of the side effects of microplastics – for the last few years, I get to toss the metal fog of long COVID onto the pile – and now, everyone is willingly deskilling themselves at the altar of a stochastic parrot – the insidious part of the process is that you don’t realize that you’re getting dumber – especially when the spicy-auto-complete is constantly telling you how smart you are
