and now I have a pet peeve with Mastodon – similar to other microblogging
platforms, Mastodon’s feed is chronological (newest at top) but that is reversed
when you click on a toot (oldest at top) – the sorting isn’t the problem, it’s
when you click Back
to the main feed, the position you are taken to is an
absolute position from the top of the feed, not a position relative to the toot
you clicked on when you left the main feed – so if new posts have been added to
the very top of the feed, the rest of the feed gets pushed down, thus when you
click Back
, it gives the appearance you’ve returned to a higher position
in the feed (toots you’ve already read) rather than returning to the place you
left from
the day after
the day before
the month before
the season before
