like almost every other Markdown editor, Obsidian lets you enter metadata into
a YAML block at the top of the file – you can structure it everything from a
basic title/date/tags to including a Pandoc set of tags right on up to a full
Zotero/Dublin Core attribution set – and one of the tags that comes up commonly
is lang:
for the language – I’ve collected several quotes that
caught my interest over the years, but my notes are for me, not for
bibliographic references – do I enter the full language as a tag:

; or as an
extended language entry: lang: en-US
