part of my dis-attraction to television, I think, goes right back to the concept of the “missing middle” – we see it in housing, in movies, in music, and in television – the networks only fund and push out shows they already know will gain viewers to keep their ad money rolling in – some of the streaming services have been quickly iterating through new shows but, again, unless the show’s “performance” is up to par, they get cancelled just as quickly and their budgets and staff reshuffled elsewhere (just at a higher speed than the networks)
