in a lot of Europe, the days of the week are named after the planets – or, more accurately, named after the gods the planets are named after – Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter (Jove), Venus, Saturn, Sun – English went a step further and named the days after the Germinic equivalents of the Latin gods the planets are named after – (Moon), Tiw, Woden, Thor, Frigg, (Saturn), (Sun) – in Christian Europe, the last two of these are frequently renamed to Sabbath (Sábado) and Lord’s Day (Domingo)
