not that long ago, I re-downloaded Hugin to stitch some panoramas – and I forgot to write down a couple preferred settings at the time – the first, if Hugin can’t read the lens info from EXIF then it’ll ask you for Focal Length and Focal Length Multiplier (from which it will calculate Horizontal Field of View) – and it’s dependent on whether the camera manufacturer can be bothered to save the data or not – so, for those lenses, I need to keep track of their numbers for later

the second is deciding on which projection to use – Hugin has a lot of projection options built in (including being able to generate fisheye or “little world” projections from regular images) – from the previous time, I had decided on a horizontal projection and a vertical projection that looked “right” to me – but again, I didn’t write them down – as a side note, I like “Cylindrical” for horizontal and “Stereographic” for vertical
