obviously, I’ve been toodling around with Pascal lately – but I also get distracted with looking at some of the languages it’s influenced – the most notable is probably Ada – I can’t say I have too many impressions of Ada one way or the other beyond that it’s very much not a microcomputer language – but in online discussions, I have stumbled across Austral which looks promising (focusing on simplicity and linear types) – and recently, Blaise just set their repository to public, focusing on an Object Pascal compiler without the 20 years of technical debt of Free Pascal
