Proclaimers – “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” ↗
I’ve been working my way through Pascal and Lua recently – and I have a small pile of shell scripts, many of which are just acting as cleaner frontends to other Linux programs – I could reimplement them in Lua (and a couple might be good candidates for Pascal) – but then I already have working shell scripts – but then, even for scripting, Lua uses less resources than shell – yes, the Pascal versions would run faster – but again, I generally only run the scripts once a day – the slowest script I have is not slow because of processing speed, it’s slow because it has to wait on grabbing an XML file from OpenWeather
