PG&E recently performed a “scheduled power outage” – we got plenty of warning and I made sure anything I needed was charged to full the night before (including my cell phone if I needed to make an emergency phone call) – so, of course, an hour into the power outage and they cut power to the local cell tower – admittedly only for about ten minutes, but it seemed a rather appropriate bit of comedy to start off a day without power
