out of what I’ve dubbed “lifestyle” channels on Youtube, a few are renovation channels, documenting their changes and upgrades – and I’ve had a rare couple of those who’ve finished their renovations and … just disappeared – which is understandable, the fixer-upper is fixed-up, nothing more to document, and their lives have resumed after the hiatus – they don’t owe their viewers anything, but it still feels like a loss, the impermanence of parasocial interaction
