back in the mid ’90s, I was regularly hitting up a video rental store located in the “Chinatown” area where I was living – primarily because they were importing a lot of foreign videos which provided some variety to the mainstream selection available through Blockbuster – and one of my favorites from that time was Wong Kar-wai’s Chungking Express (1994) – and thanks to the movie’s soundtrack, I will always pair up The Mamas & The Papas’ “California Dreamin’” with The Cranberries’ “Dreams”
