(I have to say I feel clever for coming up with this analogy) – reservoirs are batteries, rains are fast-charging, water utilities are load, and snowpack is trickle charging – in California, winter is the rainy season – reservoirs get filled up, snowpack builds up – except this year, we had a heat wave go through and destroy the snowpack – California reservoirs are decently full but we have no way to recharge them through the summer
