I can’t call myself a great typist (but then I’m not a hunt-and-pecker either) – but I was of the generation that was still offered typing classes in high school (not that even then many bothered to take them) – I learned touch typing (and can maintain a respectable mid-70s on Monkeytype) but I’m not completely an «eyes off» typist – even if it’s just in peripheral vision, I find the keycap colors and legends still offer strong visual cues – I really like diagonal colored sets like SA 1976 and SA Vilebloom but I’ve found even just the simple bit of coloring mods to fit the pattern rather than separating them from alphas messes with me
