Herbert Spencer popularized «survival of the fittest» as his interpretation of Charles Darwin’s «natural selection» – Darwinists have since interpreted «survival of the fittest» to mean «survival of the strongest» – Peter Kropotkin quickly debunked «strongest», showing that coöperation rather than competition is a better definition for «fittest» in Mutual Aid: A Factor of Evolution
and now we have Musk talking about «The fundamental weakness of Western civilization is empathy.» – Musk has clearly not grown out of his chuuni phase since, again, that concept has also been thoroughly debunked – empathy has been proven time-and-again as one of the cornerstones for civilization – Hannah Arendt: «The death of human empathy is one of the earliest and most telling signs of a culture about to fall into barbarism.» – and, closer to home for Musk’s Nazi aspirations:
In my work with the defendants [at Nuremberg] I was searching for the nature of evil and I now think I have come close to defining it. A lack of empathy. It’s the one characteristic that connects all the defendants. A genuine incapacity to feel with their fellow man. Evil, I think, is the absence of empathy.—Captain G.M. Gilbert (Army psychologist assigned to watching the defendents at the Nuremberg trials)
