most grocery stores stack up small impulse purchase items near the cash registers – Grocery Outlet goes a step further with larger items near the entrance so they’re the first thing you see coming in the store – I’ve fallen victim to several of these – and while they all look tasty and inviting in the store, I’ve had just as many turn out to be disappointments once they’re opened up back home – and your immediate reaction is to go ahead and toss it – but then, in the back of your mind, the parental programming resurfaces «don’t waste food!»
