I have never been good at music (I never did well in music class, playing instruments was tedious, public performance was way beyond my introversion, and instructors assumed I already knew theory and would just talk over my head) – but, growing up with the rise of microcomputers, I thoroughly enjoyed programming music – I learned to read a score by typing the individual notes of songs into some long forgotten Apple II+ program, making its system speaker belt out a tinny Lillibullero – and now I’ve stumbled across Switch Angel and Strudel and livecoding … yeah, no, not gonna go down that rabbit hole …
