one of the things I like about micro (and I assume holds true for vim and Emacs as well) is, when working with journals and OBTFs, how easy it is to whip up a custom syntax highlighting – for OBTFs, I have it highlight hashtags, at-mentions, and URLs – and then dim out (treat as a comment) lines where I’ve added “DONE:” – I can either behave and specify semantic matches (statement, variable, constant, comment) like I did with M3U and Remind, or shortcut and specify colors directly like I did with journal
