about a year ago, I had posted an alternate set of month names for a calendar reform, but with the proviso that they were very much northern hemisphere centric – we can rotate seasons by 6 months (or 26 weeks), but we don’t normally include seasons in time-keeping while we almost always include the name of the month – and things would certainly become confusing if “Gate” referred to both the first month and the seventh month depending on location – is the solution then to have two separate sets of names, Latin-based Euro-centric for the northern hemisphere, indigenous-based Global-South-centric for the southern hemisphere?
