as stated before, my choice of month names and season names was based on a northern hemisphere point of view – we can figure out a southern hemisphere equivalent by applying a 26 week offset – but that leaves out a couple other regions – the hint is “mid-latitude” – what sense do mid-latitude temperate month and season name make to equatorial (tropical or desert) regions and polar regions? – equatorial regions traditionally marked two (northern Indian Ocean) or three season (River Nile) cycles – polar regions don’t typically mark seasons so much as they mark polar night and polar day (and the short periods in between)
