Matt (of Linux Cast) recently posted about static site generators versus WordPress being “easy” – and there’s one thing I think I’ve stumbled through a couple times before is the word isn’t “easy” or “simple” but “convenient” – WordPress has regularly been labeled a complex mess (and yet another company with a problematic BDFL), but the vast majority of web hosts have done the hard work already and present you with a convenient one-button solution – it’s not that WordPress is any easier than a static site generator, it’s that somebody else has done the work for you
