so, Alpine Linux had a new release (3.24.0) and I went through the simple process of updating – without paying attention to the note that GRUB had also been updated at the same time and proceded to break my system – between previous notes and a install USB, successfully worked my way through getting everything re-installed
and then get to the stage of editing /etc/fstab in order to
re-mount all the extra drives – and reboot into one long
beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep – panic attack, “What the fuck did I break
now?!?” – brush keyboard and it stops and proceeds into GRUB normally – I didn’t
break my system (again), I had just messed up numbers in
GRUB_INIT_TUNE – GRUB was trying to play a 132s long note …
