in the first episode of Starfleet Academy, our episode’s protagonist walks up a flight of stairs, turns left, and proceeds through the Regulation Appearance Arches (an energy curtain across the hallway) – the Arches handle haircuts, uniforms, and, I’m assuming, basic external hygiene – which, on its own, sounds kinda neat – but my first thought was “Isekai!” – a separate protagonist just appears, cut hair and in uniform, after the Arches – no idea where they are and no records in either Athena’s or Starfleet’s databases – just standing there looking lost and blocking the hallway
