“there’s a better world” is getting repeated a lot lately (along with less aspirational variants like ”we’re on the worst timeline”) – the problem is that those in power know they could be working towards a better world and they actively reject the idea – they would rather burn the world down than concede an ounce of power – they would rather bathe in the suffering of others than to even think of the attempt to better themselves
