the primary source for videos is still YouTube and Google was one of the first to go the full enshittification route – which means you generally need half-a-dozen addons to make Youtube usable – one of the main ones I like, DeArrow, attempts to de-sensationalize things a bit, choosing thumbnails from the video itself and crowdsourcing more accurate titles – and, at least on my system, it appears to have run afoul of some arbitrary “bot” policy (API calls for the thumbnails) which means all the thumbnails on a page (search, recommended, playing next) come out as completely blank
