recently picked up a used bike off eBay and (as expected) it arrived disassembled – so far, I think I have one missing nut and one missing bolt – but the nut is one of the rear axle nuts – so I went back online to try to find what size of nut I need to get
the nut size is an older spec, fallen out of favor a decade or so ago (and not a hardware-store size), but still common within the BMX community – I don’t know what size it actually is, but I have seen it listed as: 3/8", 3/8" x 26tpi, M15 x 1mm pitch, M15 x 26tpi (it’s most likely 3/8" × 26tpi) – but, as the more astute of you might have noticed: 3/8" ≠ 15mm – the M15 is referring to the wrench size, not the thread diameter …
