a recent post on Mastodon pointed me to an article posted a year and a half ago – instead of trying to divide politicians into “good and evil” (and the resultant sports team bickering that ensues), divide them into “enemies and cowards” – enemies are opposed to your goals at best and opposed to your existence at worst – cowards may support your goals but will just as easily sell you out to protect their own self interests – and (in the US) the archetypes couldn’t be more obvious, the Republicans are the enemies, the Democrats are the cowards – the ideal is to vote in the cowards and create the conditions that make them more afraid of selling out their constituents than their donors
