way back when, MP3.com and internet radio introduced me to the rest of the world in music, an alternative to the FM top 20 on endless repeat – as long as there was internet access, people were uploading their local music – music that hadn’t been bowdlerized or translated for western audiences – a couple of the early internet radio stations I latched on to where Beirut Nights (dance music out of the Beirut night clubs) and Russian! Radio (Russian pop music out of Cuxhaven, Germany)
